The Work of Tim Nolan
My Multimedia Portfolio
I'm currently a play-by-play broadcaster, sports anchor and reporter for Delmarva Sports Network, a WBOC-TV affiliate on the Delmarva Peninsula. I've worked in minor league baseball and compiled multiple years of experience as a TV and radio broadcaster as well as a sportswriter.
Portfolio
With the Delmarva Sports Network, I've had the opportunity to broadcast a number of live sporting events on television. Here's my TV play-by-play reel from this past fall, including football, field hockey, soccer and volleyball.
Over the past handful of months, I've gotten to travel all over the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware to cover local sports while also anchoring shows, conducting sit-down interviews and enjoying a multitude of other opportunities. Above, you can find my work
Prior to coming to Maryland's Eastern Shore, I served as a play-by-play broadcaster for the ACC Network and ESPN+. It allowed me to improve on air and immerse in everything from soccer to lacrosse and field hockey.

Two years ago, Syracuse’s Emily Hawryschuk was the Tewaaraton front-runner in NCAA women’s lacrosse. A pandemic-shortened season and a torn ACL later, she returns as one of women's lacrosse's preeminent scorers and this sole goal remains.
With a shift to defensive midfield, Peter Dearth fulfills SU's expectations
The year following my Hawryschuk feature, I previewed a men's player that wasn't known as much for his goal-scoring because of a selfless decision to switch to SSDM. It made Syracuse a mainstay in the rankings during his career.
1990 men's rowing team remains unmatched 30 years later
This was a great opportunity to exhibit my off-beat reporting. We were looking for stories to pitch when COVID-19 shut the sports world down, and I spent the following month tracking down one of the best Syracuse rowing classes since the Glory Days.
InvinciBol
Syracuse’s record has generated plenty of buzz among the locals. Our lives are relatively easy enough that we can care about a basketball team’s nine and 11 record. But for one of Syracuse’s players, just waking up each morning in the 315 is a victory. In conjunction with Harrison Singer and Z89 The Juice, WAER’s Tim Nolan shares the incredible story of South Sudanese refugee, John Bol Ajak.

Broadcast Assistant
With a month to go in college, I began work as a broadcast and media relations assistant for the Hartford Yard Goats, the Rockies' Double-A Affiliate. The job offered hands-on experience preparing a gameday broadcast, writing game stories, interviewing manager Chris Denorfia and the chance to make tapes on days I'm not working.
Dec 2019 - April 2020
During the second semester of my sophomore year, I spent two nights a week in the Daily Orange house editing  and fact-checking articles, pitching headlines and learning the behind-the-scenes of operating a print newsroom.
June 2019 - August 2019
The summer following my freshman year, I had the distinct honor of interning for NBC Sports Washington. Along with my work editing and assisting the professional staff, I was able to write a number of bylines by the time summer was over, like the one linked above.
Present
I call play-by-play and serve as a sports anchor, reporter and video journalist for DSN, which provides 24/7 sports coverage of the Delmarva peninsula.

After every game we carry on WAER 88.3-FM, WAER Sports also runs a postgame show called "The Double Overtime." Here's a snippet from Syracuse's 92-69 win over Louisville earlier this year between myself and co-host Cameron Ezeir.
August 2021 - April 2022
ACC Network Extra gave me the opportunity to call men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, field hockey and women's lacrosse this season. I've also been an analyst on a women's basketball pre- and postgame show.
